Journal of a cruise : of the U.S.S. Fairfield, 1835- 1839.

This volume contains a journal of a cruise of the U.S.S. Fairfield, 19 October-17 December 1835, kept by John McCarty Mason, including a list of ship's officers. Part of the volume was used as a scrapbook of clippings and poems of Eleanor Ann Clifton Patton Mason, 1837- 1839. A postcard from Commodore R.G. Davenport to Mr. Hertle, 16 November 1923, gives the history of the journal.
